For me the joy of painting begins with developing a concept which I can translate into an abstract composition. Then I transform the idea into visual images of geometrical elements fragmenting the theme to show different views to provide the illusion of motion. I apply colour intuitively and spontaneously to influence the mood I wish to create. The resulting composition is visually all about form and colour presenting a theme that is subjective – appreciable yet enigmatic. Though not completely abstract cubism is intriguing and sometimes difficult to fathom. It takes some reflection and a bit of a stretch of the imagination to fully appreciate and enjoy.
